I’ve got a lovely new scarf!

Pattern: Scrunchable Scarf
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted – Sealing Wax
Size: a bit over 5 feet, and 4-5 inches wide

I really like this and it’s become useful this past week with the early cold mornings. I’m making a matching pair of toasty mitts to come soon. Err, haven’t got much else to say, looking forward to the weekend and dreaming about future knits!

I absolutely love receiving mail. I don’t really get a lot now, aside from magazines and commercials and college brochures, but every so often I’ll get a yarny package.

absolutely ah-dorable. This is the chevron love mitten kit in tiny dancer, from knitterlythings. I can’t wait to make a pair of mittens from this yarn. The colors were a bit off from the shop picture, but I love them nonetheless. Now all I’ve got to figure out is the order!

In the meanwhile, I just finished knitting a Scrunchable Scarf from some malabrigo in Sealing Wax. It’s blocking right now, so expect an update soon!

two posts in two days? If I don’t stop posting so fast, I’ll start setting standards. Well, I have a good reason. It was just really pretty outside today, so…

and really? How could I not take advantage of a day like this?

Ishbel
Pattern: Ishbel by Ysolda
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine, Oceanic Mix
Needles: US 6
Time: bout two weeks
Size: Scarf-size; blocked out to 50 inches by 18 inches

I kind of adore it. I’ve never really knit anything shawl-like, and I hadn’t really planned to. I don’t really wear shawls ever, and this one was kinda difficult, considering my short attention span. [I messed up my stitch counts loads of times] Shawl-scarves on the other hand? Well, I love this one, so I’m hoping to see a few more in the future. I’ve got my mum already asking for one just like this…

Well, I’ve finally finished those polka dot mittens I’ve been test-knitting for Sam. I made some slight modifications because my hands were smaller and I was knitting a sportweight as a fingering weight yarn, but otherwise, it was a fun knit. And the yarn, a lovely alpaca-silk blend? blocked out really soft.

It’s mid-March here, and in Texas, that means mitten weather is long-gone. I’ll get some use out of them next winter, though. Not to worry, the weather hasn’t stopped me from knitting though. Blocked out Ishbel last night, pictures and info soon to come!

I didn’t forget about my blog. Promise.

But spring break is finally here, and I’m hoping to get tons of knitting done. In fact, I’ve gotten some new pretties to help me out.

A new knitting bag from sewbendy.etsy.com

and a new LYS opened here in Houston: Knitting in the Loop

and I may have dropped by. and bought some yarn.

this is mirasol nuna in a stunning grey and dark red; so lovely and soft.

I see a scarf in my future….stripes? yea.

In other knitting news, I’m almost done with mittens. They just need some blocking and photographing, so expect that soon. And another thing I’m almost done with is Ishbel.

Hah, this is the only picture I have of it right now, but it’s actually almost done. So we may actually be looking at more than one post a month! I know – I’m shocked too.

Alright, off to knit!
